| Students who wish to, can join any one of the numerous clubs at Fuji. Every year, 250-300 students regularly take part in club activities. Using a set time frame after classes, in addition to Spring, Summer and Winter holidays, our students engage in a variety of both fitness- based and culture-based activities. Irrespective of year or class, students are encouraged to accumulate many different experiences and interpersonal skills and, through this, come to know the meaning of achievement, dedication and even frustration. We at Fuji believe this to be beneficial to the development of our students. |

Basketball club
Members : 28
Practice days :
Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays
What we do :
We have fun playing basketball together, covering many aspects from basic practice to useful tactics that can be employed in games.
Captain's message :
There are twenty eight of us, fourteen junior and fourteen senior students, who come together for practice three times a week. Although we dont have any official competitive matches, we do enjoy working on improving our tactics and overall team play in the run up to friendly matches against other schools. For the last four years, we have toiled together and grown as a team and it is thanks to this that our club has helped us deepen our friendship. |

Rhythmic gymnastics club
Members : 18
Practice days : Tuesdays and Fridays
(sometimes every day if there is an exhibition coming up!)
What we do :
We work on our basic movements to warm up, and then practise routines using ribbons, balls, clubs, ropes, hoops and various other apparatus. We also give performances at events like the school festival and our April exhibition.
Captain's message :
Hello. Our rhythmic gymnastics club is the closest-knit one of all the P.E. after schools clubs. This makes our club a place where older and younger students can enjoy close friendship and relaxed atmosphere, making it a fun way to spend time after school. |

Badminton club
Members : 53
Practice days : Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays
What we do :
We practise the basics of badminton and a variety of hitting styles and movements in order to help us prepare for matches.
Captain's message :
At Fuji, students from 2nd year up to 5th year practise together at our club. In addition to matches with other schools, we also have a "Fuji Cup" tournament within our very own club. In this tournament, teams are made up of students from each year and they then compete for glory! Sometimes, we even play against the teachers. Through these matches, we become more determined to become better at the game, and our friendship becomes stronger as a result.
What we get from being a part of this club differs according to each individual, but there is definitely something to be gained by everyone from it.
We look forward to being able to play badminton and making new friends with you one day. |

Tennis club
Members : 37
Practice days : Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays
What we do :
Senior students practise using the school tennis court on weekdays, while junior students use the gymnasium. In summer, we all practise at the Hanakawa campus on Saturdays and during the summer holiday from nine in the morning till three in the afternoon. Because we have two competitions during our summer holiday, we are at Hanakawa almost every day.
Captain's message :
Once you have joined the tennis club, there is a period of time where most of what you do is general fitness training and racket swing practice, and you might actually find it boring! However, once this is finished, you will have lots of fun practising rallies with the senior students and playing matches. The older club members are really friendly, and the teachers coach us well, sometimes kindly, and sometimes with, erm...."verve". |

Volleyball club
Members : 24
Practice days : Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays
What we do :
Junior students and senior students alike enjoy meeting to practise together. Senior students compete in the Sapporo Private Schools' Competition in September, as well as the newcomers competition in November. Also, April sees the senior students go to Asahikawa for some matches with the Fuji school there.
Captain's message :
Within the confines of a thrice-weekly practice schedule, we enjoy participating in the Private School's Competition and seeing how other schools practise. The junior and senior students at our club get on very well, and I think our practice sessions are really enjoyable for all of us. Becoming part of this club is a good chance to enjoy a "breath of fresh air", and forget all of your academic worries and stress for a while.
By no means can we be called a "strong team" just yet, but we use our strong friendship to encourage each other to strive for that extra point, that extra set when we play our matches. |

Captain's message :
One of the most appealing aspects of our club is the camaraderie among the members, both junior and senior, which comes from our participating in events such as the school Christmas party and the farewell party, not to mention our summer camp! We can be quite boisterous and talkative when making something together, yet at other times we can be painting away in silence, concentrating.
For the school festival, we decide on a theme and open a gallery to introduce our club. In the run up to this, we are busy making display pieces, as well as bookmarks and and postcards which will be put on sale. At Christmas, we are charged with decorating the school tree and candles, so we enjoy putting our talents to good use for a variety of events throughout the year.
Captain's message :
Hi there! My name is Kimura, and I'm in charge of the art club. Our club is a bright and cheerful group of people who enjoy spending time together to improve our artistic talents.
